"One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well."
- Virginia Woolf
Hi, my name is Nina and I am currently a third year student majoring in English Language and Literature at King's College London. I started this food blog as a creative outlet for some of my 'hobbies' and interests - writing, photography, graphic design, and - of course - food.
I decided on 'Third Culture Foodie' as a name due to my international background. I was born in Manila, raised in Hong Kong, and now based in London. I wanted this blog to incorporate my different cultural and culinary experiences.
I hope you enjoy following my blog!
The Rating System
I use a simple letter-grade rating system to summarise my thoughts on a particular restaurant.
The Rating System
I use a simple letter-grade rating system to summarise my thoughts on a particular restaurant.
- Food: how the food tasted, how it looked, and in some cases how authentic it is.
- Ambience/Deco: the atmosphere, the setting, and the interior decoration.
- Service: service provided, for instance the friendliness/attentiveness of staff; waiting time.
- Price:
$ (less than £10, HK$100)
$$ (£10-£20, HK$100-$250)
$$$ (£20-£30, HK$250-$500)
$$$$ (£30+, $500+)
Note: There is not a direct conversion between pounds and HK dollars, because a meal over $100 would not be considered cheap in Hong Kong.
